Emma
was born on April 15th 1990 in Oxford, although some sources say, that
she was born in France, where she lived the first five years of her life.
After
this time, her mum (a lawyer, who has been divorced from her husband Chris Watson
shortly before), her brother and Emma moved to Oxford, where they still today
live - together with two cats named Bubbles and Domino.
Emma
has loved acting since the age of three, although she's had only two performances
in the school threatre group before Warner Bros. casted her as Hermione Granger:
she played in "Mogan La Fay" in "Arthur: The Young Years"
and she had an important role in "The Happy Prince".
Culture
and arts seem to be a very important thing for Emma: aged seven she won the first
prize for her poetry recital in a "Daisy Pratt Poetry competition" which
was held in her school. Just three years later, her school principal asked her
to try out for the role of Hermione Granger in the first film. Together with Emma,
some other classmates went to the castings, but Emma was one of the few people
that were called in for a second audition. Since, she is now very known as Hermione
Granger, she doesn't have too much spare time for playing hockey, tennis, rounders
and debate, which she really likes to do.
